Giacomo Marchiori Uvaggio 2021

Share

A blend of 50% Spanna (Nebbiolo) with the bulk of the remainder made up of Croatina, Barbera, and Freisa amounting to 40%, and then 10% Vespolina and other typical varieties. Quite brooding and deep set with dark cherry, alpine herbs, dried cherry, mint, dried cranberry, prosciutto, and pecorino cheese. The palate is similarly deep with a round and chewy, full bodied texture. Dark cherry, cranberry, cherry pit, hints of mocha, and dark red rose sit within in a fulsome texture before a good lick of chalky tannins hold sway. The finish is permeated by the dark cherry notes along with pumice minerality to an even close. Lots going on here in a more brooding and thick-set expression.
