Pt. Leo Estate Pinot Noir 2019

Share

The Pt. Leo property is located close to Westernport Bay on the Mornington Peninsula with its proximity to the ocean helping to cool the vineyards down. In warm vintages such as 2019 that location helps to keep the highly sensitive pinot noir in check to retain its perfumed and elegant fruits. Bright cherry red in colour this is a generous and expressive style of pinot with dark cherry, mushroom and spicy fruits backed by quite sweet French oak. In the mouth it is dry and fleshy with berry compote fruits and stalky complexity underpinned by supple tannins providing good length. It’s an attractive, early drinking pinot style well matched to duck sausage.
