Gomersal Wines Reserve Shiraz 2022

This is quite a beautiful Shiraz from the Barossa Valley in this wonderful season. Intense fruit delivers with a high degree of elegance and style but shows those dark plum, dark chocolate characters that you expect, with a little mocha and licorice subtly delivered and applied. It’s had twenty-two months in a mix of new and older American oak, which seems to suit this fruit absolutely perfectly. It’s elegantly integrated with fine chalky tannins, adding their neat support with the oak and fruit working harmoniously. This is a pretty impressive wine for this price and certainly worth seeking out if you’re looking for a value-for-money cellaring proposition.
