Greenock Estate Wines GE Barossa Shiraz 2015

Share

This is an intensely powerful and concentrated expression of Barossa Shiraz. At ten years of age, it is only just starting to reveal all that’s hidden within. It’s a full-bodied wine of immense generosity, and on the nose there’s a mix of ripe raisiny fruitcake, dark plum and loads of rich black fruits. The palate is seamlessly integrated, and there’s a gentle suppleness about it, although there is a deep and lingering intensity that is very much the Barossa DNA. The tannins are neatly integrated while the oak well-managed. It seems to gather momentum through the palate as it drives with relentless purpose through to a sustained lingering finish. This is Barossa Shiraz delivered in a classic way and just a touch of refinement as the final fling. Excellent wine.
