A wine created to style parameters rather than regional or even more so specific. Here it’s from three sources: Margaret River (50%), Coonawarra (29%) and Frankland River (21%), a demonstration of the blending arts behind such a wine. Dark cassis with mint and crushed bay leaf open proceedings with echoes of all in the palate, extra depths then coming from some sweeter oak spices which play a further role in the mouth-filling, feathery tannins that give the wine a distinctive varietal texture. Plenty to enjoy here as a classical interpretation of the Cabernet Sauvignon grape.
