Hare’s Chase The Springer Barossa Valley Shiraz 2022

The fruit comes from the estate vineyard at Marananga in the heart of the Barossa Valley and from selected growers. Maturation is for a year and a half in a mix of older French and American oak hogsheads, with 20% remaining in tank to assist with the freshness. Dark purple/maroon, there is good oak integration throughout, with notes of blackcurrants, coffee grinds, leather, bergamot, plums, chocolate and black tea. There is an attractive sweetness from the chocolatey notes, well balanced with spices. The wine has very good length, through to satiny tannins. The style is seamless, quite luscious and will drink superbly for at least a decade.
