Heartland Sposa e Sposa Lagrein Dolcetto 2021

A fascinating and unique blend here where the winemaker has worked miracles with Lagrein to make a stylish and approachable wine from what can be a tough variety. Bright deep ruby, it shows punchy aromas, including black licorice, tar and florals with a dusting of dried herbs. There is then a firm heart thanks to those Lagrein tannins coming out to play but they are also beautifully matched to fleshy, powerful dark fruits. Tangy acidity adds freshness and helps to support a lingering finish. All in all, it’s a super introduction to this variety.
