From outside the Valpolicella Classico area. 30 days appassimento. 225 litre barrels for ageing, some old and some new. Bottled in 2017. Herbaceous and vegetal aromas. Green bean, charred capsicum, smoke, and cocoa nib with some lingering sweet plum fruit in the background. Cedar, black pepper savouriness. The palate is medium bodied, with ripe sweet fruit – plum, ripe blackberry. Some cassis with the herbaceous notes in tow, green bean, bell pepper. Assertive grainy tannins are integrated with the fruit carrying the plum and cassis notes long, finishing with a mouth perfume of musty sourness and liquorice root.
