Henschke Johann’s Garden 2022

This is a Grenache and Mataro blend from the Barossa. The varieties are processed separately before going into all older oak for 10 months maturation. The perfumed aromas of raspberry and cherry are immediately evident. The palate picks up on these characters but then the grainy slightly gravelly tannin characters add another dimension that lifts this to a new place beyond a simple fruit driven wine. Balanced and poised.
