Henschke Roeslein Eden Valley Barbera 2021

Share

I am fairly sure that this is the first vintage of straight Barbera from Henschke, although it does come off vines planted in 2002, which is old by Australian standards. It’s more supple than many Italian examples, thanks to the vintage, but does deliver layers of upfront, juicy dark cherry fruits with a dusting of pepper and spice. It’s then fleshy and moreish, with blackberry and cherry flavours beautifully balanced with crisp acidity to provide a beautiful package drinking well out of the blocks.
