Henschke Tappa Pass Shiraz 2022

Share

Sourced from low-yielding Shiraz vines up to 70 years old (68% Eden Valley, 32% Barossa Valley) and matured for 20 months in 10% new and 90% seasoned French oak hogsheads. This is a refined and expressive release, led by perfume, precision and poise. Lifted aromas of blueberry and boysenberry are laced with crushed violets, unfolding into deeper layers of black cherry, blackberry, star anise, clove-studded orange, and a dusting of black pepper. Subtle hints of old leather and dark chocolate add further dimension with air. The palate follows with a cool-fruited, mineral-driven elegance—blueberry, mulberry and black cherry glide through, supported by nutmeg, pepper and clove. Firm, fine-grained tannins frame the wine beautifully, while bright black cherry acidity carries it long. A classy and composed expression, showcasing both Barossa power and Eden Valley finesse.
