Hentley Farm Eden Valley Riesling 2021

I’ve been tasting a lot of Australian Riesling lately. It’s spring now but there is no doubt sommeliers (including myself) can be quite obsessive about this grape all year round. For me, purity, definition and evolution are three words I like to use in this space. It is totally fascinating to see these wines change over time and how adaptable they are with a wide variety of cuisines.

The 2021 Hentley Farm Eden Valley Riesling is loaded with zesty grapefruit aromas with a botanical vibe (juniper) and a freshness that translates from nose to palate. This style I consider the G&T of the wine world with lots of vibrancy, crunch and a lingering finish. On my next visit to the fish markets, I’m definitely up for some cured kingfish sashimi. Alternatively, this would seamlessly cut through some battered fish & chips.
