Hesketh Wines Dangerous Type Merlot 2022

The fruit here was harvested from vineyards in the southern parts of Coonawarra, which enjoyed a superb vintage in 2022. After fermentation, the wine underwent a period of maturation in a mix of older and new (30%) French oak barrels. Dark red colour here, the nose is redolent with alluring aromas of plums, mulberries, a hint of fruitcake, milk chocolate and black fruits. Good freshness is evident here, with a sleek yet generous texture and fine, if rather firm tannins, before a lingering finish. Enjoy it any time over the next three years.
