Hewitson Miss Harry GSM 2020

Share

Hewitson’s Miss Harry was one of the first Grenache blends that really took my fancy fifteen years ago. It was never made in that sweet red fruited style, which was very popular at the time, and always delivered some proper savoury complexity, no doubt thanks to Dean Hewitson’s winemaking experience in France where he clearly learnt some tips for Grenache blends. The 2020 vintage is no different, opening with aromas of dark berry fruits, roasted meat plus a dusting of spice, all with good intensity. It moves more towards brooding tarriness on the palate with a good mix of sweet and savoury influences before a fleshy, open-knit finish. Enjoy young accompanied by flame-grilled burgers, topped with the lot.
