Hill-Smith Estate Eden Valley Chardonnay 2020

Share

The Hill-Smith Eden Valley Chardonnays are certainly on the lighter end of the spectrum so if you are looking for big flavoursome styles then this is not the wine for you. But, on the other hand, if you are on the hunt for a bright and crisp more modern and elegant chardonnay, then walk this way.

The wine is pale in colour and shows good purity of fruit – nectarine and citrus with a dusting of savoury oak thanks to partial wild barrel ferment and aging. It’s then crisp and light weight for chardonnay but delivers plenty with a core of sweet fruits backed by chalky acidity. It’s on the delicate side so would suit Vietnamese fresh spring rolls.
