Hollick Coonawarra Wilgha Shiraz 2021

Made from this Coonawarra Estate’s best Shiraz, which hails from a superb vintage for the region, after fermentation, the wine spends a year and a half maturing in French oak, 40% of which is new. It then spends considerable time in the Estate’s cellar before release. Deep purple/magenta in colour, the nose exhibits notes of herbs, flesh, beef stock, charcuterie, coffee grinds, dark berries, roast meats, mint and spices. There is good concentration throughout. The wine is well balanced, of medium right, exhibits good length and finishes with sleek tannins. It will surely improve further over the coming years. Enjoy over the next ten to twenty years, longer if you have the patience.
