Margaret River Chardonnay comes in all shapes and sizes. From the bold, oaky, tropical fruit styles to the more elegant and savoury wines. This wine is the latter and unsurprisingly has a strong resemblance to the Marchand & Burch range with its strong French influence.
Pale golden in colour, this wine is immediately complex with multiple layers of citrus, pineapple, oak, nougat and peach skin fruit aromas. Every sip brings a different perspective and savoury edges – yeast lees and oat bran complexity sit on top of a citrus-scented full-bodied palate that is quite acid-driven and tense. Great overall balance but too young to drink now and it needs time to showcase all that it has to offer, which is plenty.
