Attractive aromas of gunsmoke, ginger, white grapefruit and nectarine lift from the glass with impact. Some air and warmth unlocks pastry dough, nougat and spicy cedar notes adding complexity and balance. There’s nice even intensity and detail to the palate, with cedar, flint and grapefruit making way for salted lemon and white nectarine. Some nice chalky phenolics work with saline acidity to draw things linear and long to bitter and fresh finish. Some toasty oak and pastry dough notes in the mouth perfume complete a complex, textural and structural Chardonnay. Very good.
