Howard Park Flint Rock Pinot Noir 2024

Share

Bright and a slightly lighter-toned Pinot Noir on the nose, yet with a firmly mid-bodied palate. It’s a little quiet on opening, give it a good splash to wake things up. Savoury led, there’s sour cherry and bright poppy redcurrant tip, with plenty of lightly spiced cumin and brambles. There’s a real ferrous, fresh blood note on the nose and a minerality that drives from start to finish. On the next wave, purple fruit and a little barnyard muddiness. The palate is chocolatey and deep in flavour. Good intensity and succulent length.  Tannins are plentiful and somewhere between chalky and wider-grained in structure. Still on the simpler side of Pinot on the nose, but the palate has waves of flavour and freshness that jostle for the spotlight. A savoury finish of rosella and spiced chutney makes you reach for more. A cracking Pinot for the price.
