A deceptive wine. Weighs in at nearly 15% ABV, but beneath the fuller-bodied exterior there is considerable finesse on show. A blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Mataro (aka Mourvèdre) it’s a Rhône inspired coupling that works beautifully. Combining a lively spiciness with earthiness. Lots of peppery spice on show here ranging wide across the palate with plum, blueberry, black fruits, fennel, oregano herbals, dark chocolate and liquorice confection notes. Runs smooth as silk across the tongue. Utterly enjoyable now with potential yet to be explored.
