James Kalleske Short Stories GSM 2020

Share

A Barossa version of the famous Rhône GSM blend – this one, Grenache 53%, Shiraz 35% and Mourvèdre 12% – which includes partial whole bunch fermentation and maturation in large format French oak for 18 months. It is from the Short Stories range, which is a limited release which touches on James’ history in the wine industry. A deep, dense maroon hue, we have chocolate notes with animal hide aromas and more – slightly spicy characters of roast meat/fleshy tones, cassis, florals, mocha, coffee grinds and plums. The palate is softly textured, plush and quite luscious. A seductive style which is perhaps a little broad on the palate but finishes with decent length and silky tannins. Drink now and for the next few years.
