Juniper Cornerstone Wilyabrup Vineyard Cabernet 2019

Share

2019 is one of my favourite recent vintages for Margaret River Cabernets. Most will debate me on that, since it wasn’t consistently ‘great’ across the board ….and there were some serious bird issues. But when you filter, damn – there are some cracking Cabernets. Just like this one. The cool year inviting elegance, and extended hang-time, aiding great flavour development and phenolic ripeness. Think shaved paperbark tree, amaro, and raspberry leaf. All wrapped plummy black fruits and a silky cocoon. 100% Cabernet. It’s a dusty-savoury little number, and the tannins are fine and chewy. Good wine.
