Kaesler Old Vine Shiraz 2021

Share

Another superb Barossa Shiraz from this outstanding vintage. The vineyard was planted back in 1961, from cuttings of the vines which now produce their famous Old Bastard Shiraz. Sixteen months maturation in a mix of new and older French oak, this is full throttle Barossa deliciousness. Inky purple, the nose is intense, oozing deep, dark chocolate, espresso notes, blackcurrants, animal skins, black olives and cassis. Plush, but there is a hint of savouriness with a good line of acidity and very good length. This should drink beautifully for fifteen years plus, at least.
