Logan Ridge of Tears Mudgee Shiraz 2022

Macerated red and black berries, some sweet wood spice and vanilla, potpourri plus bonfire smokiness and gunflint. It’s rather seductive yet seems a little forward. The palate is soft and fleshy, the edges in soft focus. I adore the shape of the acidity, lifted and songlike. The vanillin fruit compote notes charm and offer fragility, though tannins melt from the palate a little faster than hoped. There’s plenty to enjoy if drunk in its youth.
