Lone Palm Vineyard Grenache 2024

Share

Superb old vine Grenache from the Barossa, specifically a 80-year-old vineyard at Nuriootpa. Older French oak is used for maturation, and the team include a small tank-stored component in the interests of adding freshness. They also use 15% whole bunches. Russet with a pale rim, the nose reveals aromas of raspberries and red cherries with a touch of animal hide and warm earth. We have hints of mushrooms and herbs and there is a spiciness which runs throughout. Quite a juicy palate, through to fine, firm tannins, the wine is well focused and has excellent length. Enjoy this over the next ten years.
