Longview Vineyard Macclesfield Riesling 2020

Share

Longview have been pushing the the hamlet of Macclesfield for some time where they successfully craft wines on the restrained side for the Adelaide Hills, suggesting cooler origins. The chardonnay has always been a standout but their riesling might have something to say about that. It is so pale in colour with the fruit fine and precise – kaffir lime and citrus aromas are detailed, pristine and focussed. The palate is equally taut, light-bodied and angular with a touch of balancing sweetness leading to a long and spicy finish. It is a crisp and mouth-watering style of riesling with a distinct nod to Germany and acidity its key feature making for a food friendly style – team it up with a whole baked Thai Snapper.
