Ludo Wines Forreston Alluvium Chardonnay 2022

Share

Chardonnay grapes from an organically farmed vineyard in Forreston. It is fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks and racked into seasoned American oak hogsheads. The wine spent 10 months in barrels with occasional lees-stirring. A Chardonnay with style, this has the aroma of lemon wedges served alongside salt and tequila shots (without regret). Yellow peach, orchard apples and citron tart. Unbaked pastry dough, almond flour and orange sherbert. Raw cashew cream and a zippy, lip smacking acidity. On the saline side with a bit of a chew to the phenolics. Drink now and will cellar for up to 5 years. A wine meant to be drunk in the great outdoors perhaps with a picnic and slice of quiche.
