The Poachers site grown by Will Bruce is in the Nanima Valley is an east facing site on granite hillsides, the fruit is divided across several ferments with varying degrees of whole bunch and destemmed grapes. Matured in French oak barriques. Plum skin and blood orange, mulberries and cassis. Some Nyon olive and woodsy rosemary stems. Black pepper crusted pastrami and cured meat savoury notes. The list of aromatics and flavours go on, with the whole bunch element superbly ripe, this really adds to the dimension and lift of the wine. Violet and black tea, tannins are powdery and acidity crunchy. A delightful wine from start to finish and with a baked chunky family size beef pie and vege mash, this is your night made.
