Madfish Gold Turtle Swan Valley Grenache 2022

The Swan Valley is the source for Grenache here and proves to be a fine one. This is seriously good value, as well as good drinking. Pale garnet, the wine opens with delightfully lifted aromas; florals, plums, redcurrants, spices, raspberries, dry herbs, cloves and bay leaves. It weaves between dark and red fruits, with the former emerging more on the palate. Fine balance and sleek tannins, the wine offers decent length. A hint of sour cherry is to be found on the finish. Now and for the next half dozen years.
