Mazi Mavrodaphne Rosé 2021

Share

The Greeks are coming and no doubt we will see plenty more Greek grape varieties such as mavrodaphne making an impact in time. These grape varieties are actually beautifully suited to rosé thanks to their ability to keep their acidity even in the hottest climates. But you might want to drink it on the cooler side if high acid wines are not your thing.

Pale salmon pink to start before launching into pretty and complex fruits – white strawberry and rosewater with admirable depth and impact. A bone dry and tart palate follows with red fruits which are lifted by gentle earth and spice complexity, plus a nuttiness coming through on a finish of good length. Food matching – a Greek salad, naturally…..
