Miss Zilm Watervale Riesling 2023

Share

There is a stamp of Riesling authority here. Even tasted blind, it’s obvious. The revelation that Keeda Zilm, one of Australia’s most exciting Riesling winemakers, is the hand behind this ’23 Watervale Riesling simply confirms it. Not too many $28 Rieslings show such an intensity of lime cordial, citrus blossom, orange peel and musk on the aroma. It jumps out of the glass. A lime and citrus concentration commands the palate, running deep and strong, with attractive Watervale florals as a partner. A touch of spiciness lifts in lemongrass and ginger.  The ’23 vintage in Clare was another stunner – the third top Riesling vintage in a row – and the balance of acidity is spot on. And what length!
