Mitolo Jester Vermentino 2020

We are seeing more and more vermentino in Australia, which is great news as it is a grape variety well suited to our warmer climates. Mitolo were early on the vermentino train and this is the 11th vintage of this wine.

It is pale straw in colour and shy with delicate lemon rind and hay aromas with a touch of almond thrown in. The palate is quite tart with reserved peach skin, spice and sherbert fruits driven by that zesty acidity. It is a food wine for sure and would match anything that requires a squeeze of lemon, with fried flathead and chips a good option.
