Mottura Primitivo Salento 2024

Share

Full on Southern Italian charm here, easy to relate to, so easy to enjoy. From the heart of Puglia, Primitivo hits the spot with its medium bodied, fruit and spice and everything nice in a tight little package. Clear fruited, fresh and soft in tannins it comes on a bed of delicious dark berries, anise, liquorice, spice, hints of fruitcake and dried herbs. Keeping with the Italian way there are hints of savouriness – earthy with a light, smoked charcuterie – a nice tease and adjunct to the richness of the fruit and spice. Tannins are easy going. Brings up comparisons with Beaujolais such is the easy Mottura affable style. Can be enjoyed solo or with food, namely ragù alla Bolognese with pasta or lasagne.
