Munda Walgalu Country Chardonnay 2023 

Two vineyards in Alpine Country,  vine age between 20-30 years,  Clone 95 crushed to seasoned French Oak barriques with 100% malolactic fermentation to assist with a creamy texture.  Matured in seasoned French Oak for 8 months.  Give this a chance to open up,  and you’ll be rewarded with silky citrus fruit,  a touch of green spice, and cut coriander stalk.  Fruit is slippery,  cool and long,  with crushed digestive biscuit,  oatmeal and a wet,  crushed seashell and fine rock quartz overtone.  There is plenty of baking spice, white pepper and dried ginger, and while the primary fruit is shy to start, it’s a wine that offers savoury notes from beginning to end, including freshly cut nectarine and some sweet charred oak.  What shines most is the complete journey on the palate,  whereby the energy lingers for some time post-sip,  and the structure holds firm.  A vibrant and energetic wine,  laced with minerality and freshness.
