A wine made specifically for esteemed Barolo expert and importer David Ridge, designed essentially as an everyday style and hitting above the mark in all respects. Sourced mostly from the vineyards in the Roero appellation just north of Alba, colour is perfectly in the Nebbiolo zone, with a nose that collects earth and mushroom scents, even some bramble. A fruit note for this style is desirable too, here a burst of cherry to brighten the senses, then tempered with drying tannins though that fruit still shines through with a seasoning of pepper to finish. Delicious, and a brilliant introduction to Alba Nebbiolo.
