Oakridge 864 Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2021

Share

Pinot Noir as Mille-feuille? There’s that many layers going on. A herbal, earl grey tea-like tinge with smashed strawberry, some forest fruits coupled with campari and blood orange. There’s a lingering perfume of pink roses and violets that gets up in your nose but really the draw card here for me is the power of the wine. That concentration gets in the sides of your cheeks and refuses to let go whilst a tang of bitter deep red grapefruit at the back of the palate pulls the whole thing together. Tannin is fine, spicy and detailed – lines of a colouring book filled in with all that marvellous fruit.
