Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards Grenache 2024

A Grenache that falls into the light to mid weight category. If you are one that enjoys your Grenache with plenty of dried floral fragrance (think violets, damask rose and rose geranium), and oodles of crushed granite minerality, then this is for you. There’s also a light smattering of pencil-shaving oak, some delicate spice and red cherried, lilly pilly fruit. The palate delivers everything one hopes from the nose. Bright fruit with sour cherry and purple fruited crunch, zippy lifted acid, fine light-weight tannins, a scattering of dried florals, black pepper and clove spice and a mineral-laden finish. Though this isn’t the longest wine, there is much to love and this is a bargain at $32. There’s no excuse not to crack a bottle…or two.
