Orin Swift Mannequin Chardonnay 2018

This is a ripe and opulent style of chardonnay that captures much of what Californian chardonnay is all about. An interesting feature is that winemaker Dave Phinney has used 10% sauvignon blanc in the blend. 2018 was a very good vintage, providing plenty of opportunity to explore and exploit some of the best vineyards in the region. It’s an opulent and plush chardonnay delivering a layered and powerful palate crammed with rich fruits. Lifted notes of honeysuckle with a lemon rind, stone fruit infusion. The stone fruit richness again emerges through the palate which is brought to life with a refreshing and quite zingy acidity that  brings energy into the flavour profile. It finishes with a highly viscous mouthfeel and glistening fruits.
