Pewsey Vale The Contours Riesling 2014

Share

The Pewsey Vale The Contours is a wine made from the oldest riesling vines and the coolest site on the Pewsey Vale property. As most riesling in the country is enjoyed young and fresh, before it has hit its peak, this wine is put down for five years to showcase the added detail a decent amount of time in bottle can bring.

The wine is pale golden and now has youthful citrus fruits lifted by preserved lime, lemon butter and toasty complexity. It has also built some creamy textural richness with time in bottle, which is well balanced with still crisp acidity. Gone too is its shy youthful riesling personality which has been replaced by a wine with power and richness. A picture-perfect example of aged riesling that now has the weight to match up with lobster or Moreton Bay Bugs.
