Ottelia Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Share

John Innes of Ottelia has made plenty of wine in Coonawarra so it is no great surprise that he still dabbles in it. This is an interesting style – long aged before release – so gives plenty of fruit complexity for the price.

It is a bit old-fashioned and rustic in style – lots of oak and ripe fruit well matched and with that classic Coonawarra choc-mint. It is also tannic and concentrated with makes for a chewy palate with layers of blackberry, cedar and cigarbox complexity. Sunday night roast lamb will match it perfectly.
