Passing Clouds Bendigo Bridgewater Shiraz 2022

At 15% alcohol, on paper it’s quite a monster but it actually comes across as quite a suave and charming wine. It has so much going for it on the nose and palate, starting with tangy boysenberry fruit, coupled with dark mulberry, black cherry and some pretty violets, with tertiary characters represented by shoe polish, meat and spice. Despite the alcohol, everything is balanced, with some big and grippy tannins and a concentrated palate and teeth-staining richness. It has the structure to age confidently for at least another five years, if not many more.
