Patrick of Coonawarra Cabernet 2021

Share

A stunning vintage for Coonawarra resulted in this delicious Cabernet. With a bit of bottle age now, there’s a lovely mix of primary and tertiary characters which first announce themselves with a delightful bouquet of blackberry, redcurrant, dark choc, shoe polish and earth, with a touch of cedar. The tannins are teeth-coatingly grippy while the juice is concentrated and quite rich, but without overpowering. It needs quite a bit of air before it reveals itself fully but it’s worth the wait, and it’s definitely a wine that improves and is improved by food (not a “vicious cycle” but a delicious one).
