Penfolds Bin 150 Marananga Shiraz 2023

Share

Polish and concentration matched to some extraordinary dark purple hues, Marananga Shiraz is quite the individual, year in, year out. In the ’23 vintage, it combines its usual level of intensity with some impressive finesse. Dark, brooding black fruit, dark plum and blueberry intensity meets spice – some pretty lively aromatic spices – and dark dusty cacao notes. It’s solid Barossa Shiraz to its core but delivered beautifully through the work of elegant, fine tannins, taking the wine super long and lingering on the finish. Flavours are complex, intense, moving beyond the fruit-filled to savoury with notes of ironstone, earth, olives and wild herbs.
