Pertaringa Undercover Shiraz 2023

For under $35 you can find a basket of black, blue and red berries. A sphere of blueberry, black cherries and some mulberry. Some pomegranate seeds come through on the palate. There is a base of potting soil, rich dark chocolate and cassis too. Tannins are taut and powdery, with enough acidity to provide the wine with its affable drinkability before poppy seed on the finish. This is a pool of dark fruits and spice, interwoven into a medium bodied sip. A nice number to have with steak and kidney pie.
