Peter Lehmann Mentor Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Share

Peter Lehmann would have loved this wine which is a big and chunky red that encapsulates that inherent power and fruit generosity seen in the best wines from the Barossa Valley. It is deeply coloured and flavoured, and aromatically shows good cabernet personality with lashings of sweet cassis and blackberry fruits, with French oak currently leading the way, although that will settle with time. The palate is more of a heart dry red in style – muscular tannins well matched by powerful dark fruits that support a long and strong finish. It’s a little raw right now and needs some time to settle but you can feel very comfortable tucking this away for at least a decade as this is a wine with real staying power.
