A serious Pinot Noir at a serious price point. There is a density, a plushness and a level of complexity that impresses. It’s on the riper end of the Pinot scale – 14% – deep set in colour and aromas of black cherry, plum, lifted spice and notes of acacia and briar. That ripeness has allowed for extended time in oak, 14 months in French barriques (30% new) which brings into play woodsmoke and dark spice. Nicely layered and striking in black cherry and plum fruit, liquorice, earth with tannins ever so supple.
