A wealth of blackberries, mulberries and sweet black cherries. Davidson plum and sapote fruit. Allspice, cocoa pod and sage leaf. Concentrated fruit that focused on the palate without the distracting sweet oak tones. Instead the direct acidity funnels the fruit to the back palate where some seriously savoury tannins await. This could almost be a cool climate wine for its class and tailored frame. There is a violet and hibiscus perfume that lingers in the room.
