Pipan Steel Clone IX 2018

A more lush, expansive wine with aromas of strawberries, cranberries, red cherries, liquorice, cloves. The palate reflects this generosity, like a true Italian host. Tannins are riper, making the overall feeling “softer” (if soft can be a descriptor for Nebbiolo!), therefore appealing to those drinkers that eschew grippy tannins in favour of a more Pinot-esque palate. Nothing wrong with that, Paula Pipan is the first to admit that this specific clone appeals to lovers of lavish pinot noirs. Delicious and persistent, I’d go with that if I had to have a solo glass of red.
