Pipers Tasmania by Pipers Brook Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Share

With Tasmania’s icy climate the island state should make a fantastic home for sauvignon blanc. But over the years many of the Tassie wines have not quite hit the spot so it is fantastic to see this one come along – a crystal clear sauvignon blanc with more that a little nod to the great wines from Northern France.

It is pale in colour with piercing, vibrant aromas that immediately say drink me. Guava, pine and citrus with superb fruit purity and focus lead to a palate that is bright, fresh and juicy, even refreshing. You can almost feel the bite of a stiff breeze off Bass Strait in the wine thanks to its crisp, clean finish. This is a serious sauvignon blanc that would go down a treat with a baby spinach and goat’s cheese salad.
