Pizzini L’Aquila Nebbiolo 2022

Share

This is ambrosial and alluring, while exhibiting good depth to the perfume. Dried rose petals, red cherry, blood orange, amaro herbs, brick dust, subtle tar and flickers of red liquorice – varietal truth in perfect check. There’s some fennel with air, adding a vegetal undertone. The palate is medium-bodied, lifted and decidedly red-fruited: red cherry and cranberry sit above red-floral tones, bitter herbs and orange-citrus tang. Brick dust and terracotta linger in the background, and everything glides through the mouth with lovely flow before a tight vein of chalky tannins and a good wash of red-fruited acidity wrap it up with good length. A lovely Nebbiolo with complexity, brightness and energy.
